Cherokee Lodge

A One Of A Kind Lodge, In A One Of A Kind Town

The Cherokee Lodge, in the heart of Coronado, California, is the perfect place for vacationers and business travelers to discover the beauty and excitement of coastal California.

Located on a peninsula off the California coast, our historic fourteen-room bed and breakfast is walking distance from the raw, natural beauty of the Pacific Ocean to the west and the calm serenity of San Diego Bay to the east. Cherokee Lodge is the perfect starting point for enjoying all the sights, sounds, and activities the Coronado and San Diego areas have to offer.

At the Cherokee Lodge, our goal is to provide a peaceful, friendly environment for you to share: one that feels like home for you and your family. We'll make sure enjoy the Cherokee Lodge and the Coronado community as much as we do!

A ONE OF A KIND LODGE

About Cherokee Lodge

Cherokee Lodge has a rich cultural heritage. The lodge was originally established in 1896, when three structures were brought by barge to Coronado Island and joined together to form a public lodging home. The structure, the original Cherokee Lodge, derived it's name from the fragrant Cherokee roses growing wild on the property.

During World War II, Cherokee Lodge served as the home of Rear Admiral Raymond A. Spruance. (Spruance was essential to the U.S. victory at the Battle of Midway, and is considered by some historians to be one of the greatest admirals in American naval history.)

Today, the lodge retains it historic significance, and adds all the the modern amenities you'd expect. At the Cherokee Lodge, history, friendly faces, and a sun filled island combine to create the perfect California getaway. Come, join us, today.

A ONE OF A KIND TOWN

About Coronado

Coronado is the perfect location for family vacation or weekend getaway. Just a short drive from San Diego, Coronado gives you all the conveniences, and beauty, of the San Diego area without the crowds.

Coronado offers a variety of sparkling sandy beaches, including Coronado Beach, pet-friendly North Beach, and Silver Strand State Beach. We're especially fond of Coronado Beach. It's a short walk from Cherokee Lodge, and is consistently selected as one of the best beaches in the country. Of course, you can enjoy any number of beach-related activities in here, including surfing, kayaking, and sailing.

When visiting Coronado, you'll also want to explore Orange Avenue in beautiful downtown Coronado. The avenue is lined with a variety of diverse shops, restaurants, and art galleries. (Make sure to follow it out to Centennial Park, where you can enjoy a stunning view of the San Diego Skyline.)

And, finally, no trip to Coronado would be complete without a visit to Hotel del Coronado. The hotel, constructed in 1888, is thought to be the real-life inspiration for the Wizard of Oz's Emerald City. The resort offers many unique dining venues and relaxing activities.

Feel free to contact us for more information on Coronado and the surrounding area. We'll be glad to help.
